|
بِسْمِ ٱللّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ |
||
| In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful and the Most Compassionate | ||
| 1 |
ٱقْرَأْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ﴿1﴾ج |
خَلَقَ,
|
| Read: In the Name of your Rabb who Created. | ||
| 2 |
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ﴿2﴾ج |
خَلَقَ,
|
| Created humankind from a clot. | ||
| 3 |
ٱقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ ٱلْأَكْرَمُ﴿3﴾لا |
كَرُمَ,
|
| Read: And your Rabb is the Most Generous. | ||
| 4 |
ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَ بِٱلْقَلَمِ﴿4﴾لا |
قَلًمَ,
|
| He Who taught him with the pen. | ||
| 5 |
عَلَّمَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ﴿5﴾ط |
عَلِمَ,
|
| Taught the man what he did not know. | ||
| 6 |
كَلَّآ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ لَيَطْغَىٰٓ﴿6﴾لا |
أَنِسَ,
|
| Certainly, indeed, humankind exceeds the bounds. | ||
| 7 |
أَن رَّءَاهُ ٱسْتَغْنَىٰٓ﴿7﴾ط |
غَنِيَ,
|
| When he sees what he can do without. (Indication to Abu-Jahal, who thought that he could get away with being disrespectful to the Prophet Mohammed صَلَّى ٱللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ (ṣallā llāhu ʿalayhī wa-ʾālihī wa-sallama) while Prophet Mohammed صَلَّى ٱللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ (ṣallā llāhu ʿalayhī wa-ʾālihī wa-sallama) was praying). | ||
| 8 |
إِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلرُّجْعَىٰٓ﴿8﴾ط |
رَجَعَ,
|
| But to his Rabb is his final return. | ||
| 9 |
أَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى يَنْهَىٰ﴿9﴾لا |
رَأَى,
|
| Can you see the person who is forbidding? | ||
| 10 |
عَبْدًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰٓ﴿10﴾ط |
صلو,
|
| When a servant of Allah prays? | ||
| 11 |
أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَانَ عَلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ﴿11﴾لا |
رَأَى,
|
| What if he is on the right path? | ||
| 12 |
أَوْ أَمَرَ بِٱلتَّقْوَىٰٓ﴿12﴾ط |
أَ مَرَ,
|
| Or instructs to fear Allah? | ||
| 13 |
أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰٓ﴿13﴾ط |
رَأَى,
|
| Did you see (notice) how he lied and then turned away? | ||
| 14 |
أَلَمْ يَعْلَم بِأَنَّ ٱللّٰهَ يَرَىٰ﴿14﴾ط |
عَلِمَ,
|
| Does he not know that Allah is Watching? | ||
| 15 |
كَلَّا لَئِن لَّمْ يَنتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًۢا بِٱلنَّاصِيَةِ﴿15﴾لا |
نَهَا,
|
| Certainly not. If he does not terminate, We will drag him by the forelock. | ||
| 16 |
نَاصِيَةٍۢ كَٰذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍۢ﴿16﴾ج |
خَطِيءَ,
|
| A deceitful, sinful forelock. | ||
| 17 |
فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُۥ﴿17﴾لا |
نَدَا,
|
| Let him call his assembly (gather his group). | ||
| 18 |
سَنَدْعُ ٱلزَّبَانِيَةَ﴿18﴾لا |
دَعَا,
|
| We will soon summon the angels who inflict torment upon the damned souls in Hell. | ||
| 19 |
كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَٱسْجُدْ وَٱقْتَرِب ۩﴿19﴾1ع |
طَاعَ,
|
| Do not follow him, but prostrate and be close to Allah. ۩ Prostration |
