||
1 |
|
Allah and His Messenger are absolved of the agreement (to implement the treaty) that you (believers) made with the polytheists.
2 |
|
(O nonbelievers) You can travel (move around in) the earth (land) for four months and know that you will not escape from Allah and that Allah will disgrace the nonbelievers.
3 |
|
And make an announcement from Allah and His Messenger to people on the day of the Great Hajj that Allah and His Messenger are absolved from those who make partners with Allah. If you repent, then that is better for you. And (but) if you return, then know that you will not weaken Allah. And give good news (announce) to the nonbelievers for a painful punishment.
4 |
|
Except with polytheists, with whom you made an agreement, then they did not decrease anything (in implementing the treaty) and did not support anyone against you. So, complete the agreement with them up to their period. Indeed, Allah loves God-fearing.
5 |
|
So, when the sacred months end, kill the non-believers anywhere you find them. And hold them, and make prisoners of them, and sit and observe in wait to ambush at every lookout place. And (But) if they repent, establish prayer, and pay charity, then be friendly with them (provide support) in their means. Indeed, Allah is Most-Forgiving, Most-Merciful.
6 |
|
And if anyone from the nonbelievers asks you for protection, shelter him until he listens to the words of Allah, then deliver (take) him to where he is safe. That is because they are a nation that does not know.
7 |
|
How can Allah and His Messenger make an agreement (treaty) with nonbelievers, except with those you agreed (have a treaty) near the Sacred Mosque? As long as they remain steadfast (in implementing the treaty) for you, you remain steadfast (in implementing the treaty) for them. Indeed, Allah loves those who are God-fearing.
8 |
|
How is it? Whenever they conquer (overcome) you, they are not careful with (to honor) you, nor do they guard (what they agreed with you). They satisfy (agree) you with words from their mouths, but they refuse to (honor) them in their hearts, and many of them are sinners.
9 |
|
They sell verses of Allah at a small price, then dissuade (oppose) from His path. Truly evil is what they have been doing.
10 |
|
They are not careful to honor their obligations to believers nor protect life and property (honest, conscience to protect what is in their custody), and they are the transgressors.
11 |
|
Then if they repent, establish prayer, and pay the obligatory charity, they are your brothers in the faith (religion). We provide details of the verses for people who know.
12 |
|
And if they break their trust (violate their beliefs) after their agreement, and attack your faith, then fight with the leaders of the nonbelievers; there is no faith for them, so maybe they will restrain.
13 |
|
Why do you not fight the nation that broke (violated) their trust, planned to deport the Messenger, and started attacking the first time? Do you fear them? Then Allah has more right to fear Him if you are a believer.
14 |
|
Fight them; Allah Will torment them at your hands and will disgrace them, give you victory over them, and heal the hearts of believing people.
15 |
|
And He will remove the anger from their hearts. Allah Accepts the repentance of whoever He wishes, for Allah is All-Knowing and All-Wise.
16 |
|
Do you consider that you will be left alone, without Allah making evident to those who will fight among you, and have not taken other than Allah, and have not (taken other than) His Messenger, and have not (taken other than) the believers as entrusted? Allah has complete information about what you do.
17 |
|
It is not for the polytheists to inhabit the mosques of Allah while giving witness to themselves with disbelief. They made their deeds useless, and they will live forever in the Fire.
18 |
|
But inhabiting (and building) the Mosque of Allah is for those who believe in Allah and the day of the Hereafter, establish the prayers, give charity, and do not fear except Allah. Then, they hope that they will be among the guided.
19 |
|
Do you consider providing drinks for the Hajjis and inhabiting the Sacred Masjid to be like believing in Allah, the Day of Hereafter, and striving in the path of Allah? They are not the same with Allah. Allah does not guide the nation of the unjust.
20 |
|
Those who believe in Allah, migrate, and strive in the path of Allah with their wealth and with their lives, have a greater (higher) grade near Allah, and those are the ones who will be successful.
21 |
|
Their Rabb gives them the good news of His Mercy, acceptance, and gardens for permanent, pleasant living.
22 |
|
They will live in there everlasting. Indeed, Allah, with Him, there is a great reward.
23 |
|
O you, those who believe! Do not take your parents and brothers as supporters (guardians) if they love (like, prefer) disbelief (being ungrateful) over belief (grateful). And those among you who make them allies are indeed unjust.
24 |
|
Say, “If your parents, and your sons, and your brothers, and your wives, and your relatives, and wealth that you tempt (commission), and trade that you fear depression, and the homes that you are content with, is more loving to you than Allah and His Messenger and to struggle in His path, then wait until His decision comes to you.” And Allah does not guide the nation of the sinners.
25 |
|
Allah has given you many victories in your homeland; and on the day of Hunain, when you were pleased with your majority, then nothing was helpful to you; and the earth, as spacious as it was, became narrow and difficult on you; and you turned your back in retreat. (The Battle of Hunayn (Arabic: غَـزوة حُـنـيـن, Ghazwat Hunayn) was fought by the Prophet Muhammad صَلَّى ٱللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ (ṣallā llāhu ʿalayhī wa-ʾālihī wa-sallama) and his followers against the Bedouin tribe of Hawazin and its subsection the Thaqif, in 630 CE, in the Hunayn valley, on the route from Mecca to At-Ta’if. The battle ultimately ended in a decisive victory for the Muslims, who captured enormous spoils. It is mentioned in Surat at-Tawbah of the Qur’an and is one of the few battles mentioned by name in the Qur’an).
26 |
|
Then Allah sent tranquility on His Messenger and the believers, and He sent down an army that you did not see and punished those who disbelieved. And that is the compensation for the nonbelievers.
27 |
|
After that, Allah Accepts repentance from whoever He desires. Allah is the Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.
28 |
|
O you, those who believe! polytheists are impure, so do not let them near the Sacred Mosque after this year. Moreover, if you fear poverty (due to loss in trade with polytheists), Allah can make you rich from His favors if He desires. Allah is All-Knowing and All-Wise.
29 |
|
Fight with those who do not believe in Allah, nor do they believe in the day of the Hereafter, nor do they forbid what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden, nor profess the true faith of those who are given the Book until they pay the assigned tax personally (by their hands, willingly or unwillingly) while they are submissive.
30 |
|
The Jews said, “Uzair is a son of Allah,” and Nasarah (Christians, Nazareth) said, “The Messiah is a son of Allah.” Those are their sayings from their mouths. The words of those who disbelieved before are similar. May Allah curse them! How deceived they are!
31 |
|
They took their Bishops, Rabbis, and monks as gods instead of Allah, (they also took) the Messiah, son of Maryam (as god). And they were ordered only to worship only One God. There is no god except Him. Glory be to Him above what they associate with Him
32 |
|
They desire to extinguish the light of Allah from their mouth, but Allah refuses that, only to complete His light, even if the nonbelievers dislike it. (The continuous expansion of human knowledge, scientific proofs, and research shows the ever-increasing evidence of Creations by Allah, the wisdom behind the design, and the Power of systematic controls in the universal systems. You may deny the proofs, but signs are there).
33 |
|
He is the One who sent His Messenger with guidance and true faith to triumph (Islam) over all religions, even though the polytheists dislike it.
34 |
|
O you, those who believe! Many of the rabbis and monks eat humankind's properties (wealth) with falsehood, and they hinder the path of Allah. And those who treasure gold and silver, and do not spend it, in the path of Allah, then, give them the good news of painful punishment.
35 |
|
On the day it will be heated in the Fire of Hell, their foreheads, sides, and backs will be branded with it: This is what you have accumulated for yourselves; therefore, taste what you have been treasuring.
36 |
|
Indeed, the counting of the months near Allah is (12) twelve months, in the book of Allah, from the day He created the universe and the earth. In this, there are four sacred months. That is the established religion. So, do not treat unjustly to one another. And fight the polytheists with competence (sufficiently meeting all requirements), as they fight with you (sufficiently meeting all needs), and know that Allah is with the God-fearing (people).

|
Indeed, that neglect (forgetting to count the months correctly) increases the disbelief; they misguide with this those who disbelieve. They make it lawful in a year and forbid another year to prepare (to have war) for what Allah has prohibited, so they make it legal (acceptable) what Allah has forbidden. Their evil deeds are decorated for them. And Allah does not guide the nation of the nonbelievers.

|
O you, those who believe! What is with you when it is told to you, “Flee towards the path of Allah (get up to fight in the cause of Allah),” you become heavy (slow to move, sluggish) on the earth? Are you satisfied with the life of this world instead of the Hereafter? Then what are the provisions of the life of this world, compared to the Hereafter, is only a little.
39 |
|
Unless you flee (get up to fight), He will punish you with a painful punishment, replace you with a nation other than you, and you will not harm Him with anything. And Allah has control over everything.
40 |

Unless you help him (The Prophet), Allah had already helped him; when those nonbelievers drove him out, he was second of two when they both were in the cave. He told his companion, “Do not grieve, for Allah is with us.” Then Allah sent tranquility on him, helped him with an army you did not see, and made the word of those nonbelievers the lowest (unworthy), while the Word of Allah is the Highest. And Allah is All-Powerful, All-Wisdom. [Note: Ghar Thowr, Cave of Thowr, in which Prophet Muhammad ( صَلَّى ٱللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ • (ṣallā llāhu ʿalayhī wa-Sallam) took refuge, with companion. Abu Bakr (radi Allahu anhu), to escape from the persecution of Quraysh during the migration to Medina, is located about 4 miles south of Mecca; the Height of the mountain is 1,405 m (4,610 ft)].

Flee (get up and fight), light or heavy, and strive with your wealth and your souls in the cause of Allah. This is better for you, if you only knew.
42 |
|
They would have followed you if it had occurred nearby and on an easy path for travel, but the distance is hard. (Still) They swear by Allah: “If they had capacity, they would have gone out with you.” They are destroying themselves, and Allah Knows they are liars.
43 |

Allah has forgiven you! Why did you permit them before it became clear who spoke the truth and you would know (who were) the liars?
44 |

Those, who believe in Allah and on the Day of Hereafter, do not ask your permission (to be left behind); they fight themselves and (also) with their wealth. Allah is Aware of (who is) the God-fearing.
45 |

People who ask for permission do not believe in Allah and the Day of Hereafter. They have doubts in their hearts, which makes them hesitant.

If they had the desire to depart, they would have prepared for it with readiness, but Allah disliked their dispatch, so He prevented them and said: “Sit with those who remain seated.”

If those individuals had gone out, it would have only caused more chaos and disrupted your peace. They would have lured you into trouble, and their words may have swayed some among you. But Allah Knows the truth about the wrongdoers.
48 |

They already sought enticement before and upset the matters for you until the truth came, and the decision of Allah appeared, and then they were unwilling (they detested the Command of Allah).
49 |

Among them, who said, “Allow me to leave and do not put me in temptation.” They have already fallen into temptation (and they have failed). And indeed, Hell will surround the nonbelievers.
50 |

If a good reaches you, it makes them sad, and if hardship comes to you, they say, “We have taken our decisions before,” and they turn back, happy (satisfied that they did not have to face hardship).
51 |

Say, "Never reaches (hardship or easiness to) us except what Allah has written for us; He is our Supporter." So, the believers should trust Allah.
52 |

Say, “Are you waiting for us for anything except any of the two goods (Martyrdom or Victory)? And we are waiting for Allah to punish you with Himself or through our hands. So, you wait; indeed, we are waiting with you.”
53 |

Say, “Whether you spend willingly or unwillingly, it will never be accepted by you. Indeed, you are a nation of sinners.”
54 |

The reason why their spending is not accepted is because they lack belief in Allah and His Messenger. They only attend prayers with feeling lazy and their spending is done with reluctance..
55 |

Neither their wealth nor their children should impress you. Indeed, Allah desires to punish them with this in the life of this world and to die (pass away) while they are nonbelievers.
56 |

They swear on Allah that they are with you, but they are not with you. But they are a different (terrified) nation.
57 |

And among them are those who criticize you in (distribution of) charity. If given, to them they are satisfied, and they will be discontent if not provided.

If they agreed to what Allah and His Messenger had given them and said, “Allah is enough for us; Allah will provide us with bounty through His favors and Messenger, Indeed, we desire our Rabb.

Indeed, but the charity is for the poor and needy, and the workers (to distribute charity), and for attracting the hearts, and for freeing the enslaved people, and paying the debtors, and in the path of Allah, and the travelers. (This is) A decree (duty, obligatory, religious duty, the ordinance of Allah) from Allah. Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

And among them are those who harm the prophet, saying, "He is a listener." Say, "He is listening for betterment for you. He believes in Allah and believes for the believers, and he is compassionate with those who believe".Those who harm the Messenger of Allah will be painfully punished.
62 |

They swear by Allah to you that they are satisfied with you. And (but) Allah and His Messenger have more rights, and they should strive to satisfy Him if they are believers.

Whoever obstructs Allah and His Messenger will be cast into the fire of Hell, where they will abide eternally. That is a great disgrace.

The hypocrites are cautious that a Surah (chapter) is sent down for them, informing about them what is in their hearts. Say, “Make it mockery; Allah will bring out what you are cautious (fear).”
65 |

If you ask them, they will say (as an excuse), “But we rushed into the discussion (not being serious), and we were just playing (around).” Say, “Do you make mockery with Allah and His verses and His Messenger?”
66 |

Do not make excuses. Already, you have disbelieved after your faith. If We forgive (some) group of you, We will punish (another) group because they are criminals.

Hypocritical men and women instruct each other to do what is forbidden, forbid to do known facts and hold back their hands (to do any good). They have forgotten Allah, so He is oblivious to them. It is the hypocrites who are the sinners.
68 |

Allah has promised the Fire of Hell to the hypocritical men, women, and nonbelievers; they will live there forever. This is their credit (settlement of account of their deeds). And Allah has cursed them. And for them, it is a permanent punishment.
69 |

Like those before you, they were more powerful and had much more wealth and descendants (children). They enjoyed their share (worldly life based on fabrications). Now you are enjoying your share (of worldly life based on fabrications) like those before who enjoyed their imaginations, and you became engaged (absorbed in this world without remembering Allah) like they were engaged. Their deeds are useless in this world and the hereafter, and they will be the losers.

Didn’t the news of those before them reach them? The nation of Noah, Aad, and Samood; the nation of Ibrahim; and the companions of Madaine and Motificate (turned over dwellings)? Their Messengers came to them with clear proof. So, Allah was never unjust to them, but they were doing wrong to themselves.
71 |

And the believing men and believing women are supporters of one another.

They swear by Allah that they did not say anything; (but) they already spoke words of infidelity (non-believing) and disbelieved after believing in Islam. And they intended what they could not attain. And they took revenge only because Allah and His Messenger made them rich from his favors. So, if they repent, it will be better for them; and (but) if they turn away, (then) Allah will punish them with a painful punishment, in this world and the Hereafter, and for them, there is nobody on the Earth, no protector, and no helper.
75 |

And among them who commit to Allah: “If He gives us from His bounty, we will give to charity, and we will become righteous.”
76 |
|
Then, when He gave them from His favors, they became stingy, turning away and raising objections.
77 |
|
So, He followed (to punish) them due to the hypocrisy in their hearts until the day they will meet Him because they violated Allah (after) what they had committed to Him and because of what they were lying about.
78 |

Do they not know that Allah knows their secrets and their confidential talks? Allah Knows all the unseen.
79 |

Those who criticize the obedient believers (who give) into charity, and they make a mockery of those who could not find (afford) any (thing) to offer except their efforts, Allah makes a mockery of them and for them a painful punishment.
80 |

(Whether) You ask for forgiveness for them, or you do not ask for forgiveness for them; even if you forgive them seventy times, Allah will never forgive them. That is because they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger. And Allah does not guide the nation of the sinners.
81 |

Those who stayed (at home) sitting (abstaining) behind the Messenger of Allah were enjoying. And they disliked striving with their wealth and souls in Allah's path. And they said, "Do not go out in the heat (hot summer)." Say, "The heat of Hell is severely hotter if you understand."
82 |

They should laugh less and cry more because of what they were earning.
83 |
|
If Allah will return you to a group of them, and if they ask your permission to depart (with you), then say, “Never will you depart with me, ever, and never will you fight an enemy with me. Indeed, you accepted sitting (behind at home) the first time, then sit with those left behind.”
84 |
|
And do not pray on (grave of) any of them when they die, and do not stand at their graves. Truly they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger, and they died while they were sinners.
85 |

And do not wonder about their wealth and their children. Indeed, Allah desires to punish them because of this, in this world, and pass away their souls while they are nonbelievers.
86 |
|
When a chapter of the Quran is revealed to believe in Allah and strive with His Messenger, the powerful among them ask your permission (to stay behind). They said, "Leave us, we are with those who are sitting,"
87 |
|
They were satisfied to be with those who were left behind. And their hearts are sealed, so; they do not understand.
88 |

But the Messenger and those who believe with him strive with their wealth and souls. And for them, it is the best (reward). And they will be beneficent.

Allah has prepared gardens for them, with rivers running below them; they will live there forever. That is the greatest success.

And those Arabs bedouins came with excuses, asking for permission (to stay behind), while those who lied to Allah and His Messenger stayed behind. Soon a painful punishment will reach those who disbelieved among them.
91 |

There is no (sin) on the weak, the sick, or those who cannot find anything to give when they act in good faith for Allah and His Messenger. There is no way (to blame) for the good-doers. And Allah is Most-Forgiving, Most-Merciful.

Nor on those who come to you, for you to provide a ride (to the battlefield) for them, you said, “I could not find anything to give you for your ride (to the battlefield).” So, they went away with their eyes filled with tears and sorrow because they could not spend (to provide any support).

On the contrary, the way (to blame) are those who ask your permission (for exemption), although they are rich. They are satisfied that they remain with those who are left behind. Allah has put a seal on their hearts, so they do not learn (know).
94 |

They put their excuses to you when you returned to them. Say, “Do not put your excuses; we will never believe in you; Allah has informed us of your news. They will swear by Allah for you when you return (turn your attention) to them, so you turn away from them (avoid them). They are unclean, and their retreat is Hell, a reward for what they earned.

The Arab bedouins are more firm in disbelief and hypocrisy, and most likely, they do not know the boundaries that Allah has revealed to His Messenger. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

Among those Arab bedouins who believe in Allah and the Day of Hereafter, they enjoy what they spend to get close to Allah and the blessings of the Messenger's prayers. This will bring them closer to Allah, and He will enter them in His Mercy. Allah is the Most Forgiving and Most Merciful.

Do not you stand in it (Masjid Darraran), ever. The Masjid (The Quba Mosque) is based on God-fearing and has more rights for you to stand in this from the first day. In this, men love to be cleansed. And Allah loves those who are clean. Ref. The Quba Mosque (مَسْجِد قُبَاء) is a mosque located 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) off Medina in the village of Quba; it may be the first mosque in the world that dates to the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad.

Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their wealth in exchange for the gardens of Heaven. They fight in Allah's path, then kill and get killed. So, rejoice in making this bargain (an exchange) for this sale, which is the greatest success.

Walakum Assalam, Fahad, Appreciate your comment. The root words are normally listed in separate alphabets, but the reader of the Quran will not easily identify the words of Quranic Ayats. The Dictionary of the Modern Literary Language Compiled and Arranged by MAAN ZULFI MADINA shows the root word most closely listed in written forms. Checking in the dictionary on pp-371, the word used is صِرَاط with the meanings of way and path. The word for ارض is shown as أَرَض. The word wrapping sometimes becomes a problem in the data and should be ارض. There are a few words that will be updated to be the same as shown in the dictionary. We will keep updating the root words as shown in the dictionary. Originally the work was developed in excel with the link function and find function of root words in the Quran. Now we have used SQL to upload the files. May Allah Subhanahu Wa-Ta'ala reward you for your efforts. Jazaka Allahu Khairan: ًجزاك اللهُ خيرا “May Allah reward you with good.”Response:

However, the online dictionary (https://www.arabdict.com/ar/english-arabic) shows the meaning as incitement to evil. Hope this answers your question.
