Ayat Al-Mutaffifin RootWords

سورة المطففين - 83 -

بِسْمِ ٱللّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful and the Most Compassionate
1

وَيْلٌۭ لِّلْمُطَفِّفِينَ﴿1﴾لا

وَيْل,
طف,
Disaster for those who are stingy (trade with a deficiency).
2

ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ٱكْتَالُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ﴿2﴾ز صلے

أَنِسَ,
وَفَى,
كَالَ,
Those, when dealing with the measurement with humans, demand a complete (measure).
3

وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ﴿3﴾ط

خَسِرَ,
كَالَ,
وَزَنَ,
But when they give by measure to them, or they weigh them, they cheat.
4

أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ﴿4﴾لا

ظَنَّ,
بَعَثَ,
أ-أَلَا ,
Do they not think that they will be resurrected (raised)?
5

لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍۢ﴿5﴾لا

عَظُمَ,
يَوْم,
On a Great Day?
6

يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلنَّاسُ لِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ﴿6﴾ط

أَنِسَ,
عَلِمَ,
يَوْم,
قَامَ,
رَبَّ,
The Day when humankind will stand before the Rabb of the Universe?
7

كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلْفُجَّارِ لَفِى سِجِّينٍۢ﴿7﴾ط

كَتَبَ,
فَجَرَ,
سَجَنَ,
كَلَّا,
فِي,
Certainly not! The account of the sinners will be in (the register) of the prisoner.
8

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا سِجِّينٌۭ﴿8﴾ط

دَرَك,
سَجَنَ,
But what do you comprehend what is (register of) prisoner?
9

كِتَٰبٌۭ مَّرْقُومٌۭ﴿9﴾ط

كَتَبَ,
رَقَمَ,
An account is recorded in numbers.
10

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ﴿10﴾لا

وَيْل,
كَذَبَ,
يَوْم,
Destruction on that Day for the liars.
11

ٱلَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ﴿11﴾ط

كَذَبَ,
يَوْم,
دَينَ,
Those who deny the Final Judgment Day.
12

وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ﴿12﴾لا

أَثِمَ,
كَذَبَ,
عَتُدَ,
كُلَّ,
But none denies it except one who is ready to sin.
13

إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ﴿13﴾ط

ا و ل,
آ ىي -آية,
قَالَ,
سَطَرَ,
تلو,
When our verses are recited to him, he says, “These are the fable myths of the ancients.”
14

كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ ۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ﴿14﴾

قَلَبَ,
كَسَبَ,
كَانَ,
كَلَّا,
رَانَ ,
Certainly not! The rust on their hearts is due to what they have earned.
15

كَلَّآ إِنَّهُمْ عَن رَّبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لَّمَحْجُوبُونَ﴿15﴾ط

يَوْم,
كَلَّا,
حَجَبَ,
رَبَّ,
Certainly not! On that day, they will be screened off from their Rabb.
16

ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُوا۟ ٱلْجَحِيمِ﴿16﴾ط

جَحَمَ,
صَلَى,
ثَمَّ,
Then they will burn in the hellfire.
17

ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ﴿17﴾ط

قَالَ,
كَذَبَ,
كَانَ,
ثَمَّ,
Then they will be told, “This is what you have been denying.”
18

كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلْأَبْرَارِ لَفِى عِلِّيِّينَ﴿18﴾ط

كَتَبَ,
بَرَّ,
عَلَا,
كَلَّا,
فِي,
Certainly not; the account of the righteous will be in Seventh Heaven (loftiest Heights, Paradise).
19

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ﴿19﴾ط

دَرَك,
عَلَا,
But what do you comprehend what Seventh Heaven (loftiest Heights, Paradise) is?
20

كِتَٰبٌۭ مَّرْقُومٌۭ﴿20﴾لا

كَتَبَ,
رَقَمَ,
An account recorded in numbers (as a reward, they will be in Seventh Heaven's loftiest Heights, Paradise).
21

يَشْهَدُهُ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ﴿21﴾ط

شَهِدَ,
قَرُبَ,
They will be witnessed by those who are near.
22

إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍ﴿22﴾لا

نَعَمَ,
بَرَّ,
فِي,
Indeed, the righteous will be in blessed comfort.
23

عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ﴿23﴾لا

نَظَرَ,
أَ رَ ا ءيكُ,
On the couches, they will be watching.
24

تَعْرِفُ فِى وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ ٱلنَّعِيمِ﴿24﴾ج

عَرَفَ,
وَجَهَ,
نَضَرَ,
نَعَمَ,
فِي,
Identifiable by their blissful faces.
25

يُسْقَوْنَ مِن رَّحِيقٍۢ مَّخْتُومٍ﴿25﴾لا

سَقَى,
رَحَيق,
خَتَمَ,
The nectar of delicious, sealed beverages will be provided for them.
26

خِتَٰمُهُۥ مِسْكٌۭ ۚ وَفِى ذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ ٱلْمُتَنَٰفِسُونَ﴿26﴾ط

خَتَمَ,
مَسَكَ,
نَفُسَ,
ذَا,
فِي,
Using musk, the seal will be scented, and the competitors will be able to compete.
27

وَمِزَاجُهُۥ مِن تَسْنِيمٍ﴿27﴾لا

مَزَجَ,
سنم,
Its blend is mixed from Tasneem.
28

عَيْنًۭا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ﴿28﴾ط

قَرُبَ,
شَرِبَ,
عين,
Close companions will drink from this spring.
29

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا۟ كَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ يَضْحَكُونَ﴿29﴾ز صلے

جَرَمَ,
ضَحِكَ,
كَانَ,
Those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed.
30

وَإِذَا مَرُّوا۟ بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ﴿30﴾ز صلے

مَرَّ,
غَمَزَ,
And when they walked past them, they would wink at each other.
31

وَإِذَا ٱنقَلَبُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِمُ ٱنقَلَبُوا۟ فَكِهِينَ﴿31﴾ز صلے

أهَلَ,
قَلَبَ,
فَكِهَ,
إِلَى,
And when they returned to their families, they went back laughing (at the believers).
32

وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَضَآلُّونَ﴿32﴾لا

قَالَ,
رَأَى,
ضَلَّ,
And when they saw them, they would say, “These are the ones who are misled.”
33

وَمَآ أُرْسِلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ حَٰفِظِينَ﴿33﴾ط

حَفِظَ,
رَسِلَ,
Yet, they (unbelievers) were not sent as observers over them (believers).
34

فَٱلْيَوْمَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ﴿34﴾لا

أَ مُنَ,
يَوْم,
ضَحِكَ,
كَفَرَ,
But today, those who believe will laugh at the nonbelievers.
35

عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ﴿35﴾ط

نَظَرَ,
أَ رَ ا ءيكُ,
On the couches, they will be watching.
36

هَلْ ثُوِّبَ ٱلْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ﴿36﴾1ع

فَعَلَ,
كَفَرَ,
ثَابَ,
كَانَ,
Have the nonbelievers been rewarded for what they used to do?
