Ayat Muhammad RootWords

سورة محمد - 47 -

بِسْمِ ٱللّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful and the Most Compassionate
1

الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَصَدُّوا عَن سَبِيلِ اللّٰهِ أَضَلَّ أَعْمَالَهُمْ

كَفَرَ,
سَبَلَ,
ضَلَّ,
صَدَّ,
عَمِلَ,
Those who do not believe and prevent (hinder) from the path of Allah, their deeds are lost.
2

While those who believe, and do righteous deeds, and believe in what was sent down on Muhammad صَلَّى ٱللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ‎ (Sallā llāhu ʿalayhī wa-ʾālihī wa-Sallam), (peace be upon him and his progeny) and that is the truth from their Rabb, their sins will be covered for them, and their conditions will be corrected.
3

Those who did not believe followed falsehood, while those who believed followed the truth from their Rabb. That is how Allah gives examples to humankind.
4

When you meet those who are nonbelievers, strike on their necks. When you wear them out, bind them firmly. Then, after that, be kind to them with grace, or with the ransom, until the war has come to an end (ammunition of war is put down). And if Allah wanted, He could have taken retribution from them, but He tests some of you with others. As for those who are killed in the path of Allah, their deeds will not be lost.
5

سَيَهْدِيهِمْ وَيُصْلِحُ بَالَهُمْ ۚ

هَدَى,
صَلَحَ,
بَال,
He will guide them, and their conditions will be improved.
6

وَيُدْخِلُهُمُ الْجَنَّةَ عَرَّفَهَا لَهُمْ

دَخَلَ,
جَنَّ,
عَرَفَ,
And He will admit them into the Gardens. He has approved (made it known) for them.
7

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِن تَنصُرُوا اللّٰهَ يَنصُرْكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَكُمْ

أَ مُنَ,
نَصَرَ,
قَدَمَ,
ثَبُتَ,
أَيُّ,
O you who believe! If you help Allah, He will help you and make you stand firmly (establish) on your feet.
8

وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فَتَعْسًا لَّهُمْ وَأَضَلَّ أَعْمَالَهُمْ

كَفَرَ,
ضَلَّ,
عَمِلَ,
تَعِسَ,
And (but) as those who did not believe, destruction for them, and He will cause them to lose their deeds.
9

ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَرِهُوا مَا أَنزَلَ اللّٰهُ فَأَحْبَطَ أَعْمَالَهُمْ

نَزَلَ,
عَمِلَ,
كَرِهَ,
ذَا,
حَبَطَ,
They did not like what Allah Revealed (sent down), so, He made their deeds useless.
10

Do they not travel on the earth to see how the end was for those before them? Allah destroyed them, and for the nonbelievers, it is similar.
11

ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللّٰهَ مَوْلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَأَنَّ الْكَافِرِينَ لَا مَوْلَى لَهُمْ ࣖ

أَ مُنَ,
كَفَرَ,
وَلِيَ,
ذَا,
That is because Allah supports those who believe, and for the nonbelievers, there is no supporter for them.
12

إِنَّ اللّٰهَ يُدْخِلُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ ؕ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يَتَمَتَّعُونَ وَيَأْكُلُونَ كَمَا تَأْكُلُ الْأَنْعَامُ وَالنَّارُ مَثْوًى لَّهُمْ

Allah will enter those who believe and do righteous deeds in the Gardens with the rivers running below them. As for those who did not believe enjoy themselves, and they eat as the animals eat, and the fire will be dwellings for them.
13

وَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرْيَةٍ هِيَ أَشَدُّ قُوَّةً مِّن قَرْيَتِكَ الَّتِي أَخْرَجَتْكَ ۚ أَهْلَكْنَاهُمْ فَلَا نَاصِرَ لَهُمْ

هَلَكَ,
شَدَّ,
نَصَرَ,
قَوِيَ,
And how many dwellings were more powerful than the dwelling that drove you out? We destroyed them, and there was no helper for them.
14

أَفَمَن كَانَ عَلَى بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّهِ كَمَن زُيِّنَ لَهُ سُوءُ عَمَلِهِ وَاتَّبَعُوا أَهْوَاءهُمْ

بَا نَ,
تَبِعَ,
كَانَ,
عَمِلَ,
زَانَ,
هَوَى,
سَا ءَ,
Is he who has clear proof (plain, evident) from his Rabb, like someone whose evil deeds have been decorated for him? And they follow their desires?
15

The example of the Paradise promised for the God-fearing: in this, there are rivers of water that will not go stale, and there are rivers of milk that will not change their food, and rivers of drinks made tasty for the drinkers and rivers of selected honey. And for them, there will be all kinds of fruits and forgiveness from their Rabb. (Can they be) Like one who will live eternally in the fire and be made to drink hot water that will cut through their intestines?
16

وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَسْتَمِعُ إِلَيْكَ ۚ حَتَّى إِذَا خَرَجُوا مِنْ عِندِكَ قَالُوا لِلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ مَاذَا قَالَ آنِفًا ࣞ أُوْلَئِكَ الَّذِينَ طَبَعَ اللّٰهُ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ وَاتَّبَعُوا أَهْوَاءهُمْ

Among them are those who listen to you, but then they go out (of your company) from you, then say to those who are given knowledge, “What did he say just now?” Allah has put a stamp (seal) on their hearts, and they follow their desires.
17

وَالَّذِينَ اهْتَدَوْا زَادَهُمْ هُدًى وَآتَاهُمْ تَقْواهُمْ

هَدَى,
أَتَى,
زَيدَ,

And those who accept guidance, He increases their guidance, and He makes them to attain the devoutness (fear of Allah).
18

فَهَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا السَّاعَةَ أَن تَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً ۚ فَقَدْ جَاء أَشْرَاطُهَا ۚ فَأَنَّى لَهُمْ إِذَا جَاءتْهُمْ ذِكْرَاهُمْ

سَاعته,
نَظَرَ,
ذَكّرَ,
بَغَتَ,
جَاءَ,
أَتَى,
شَرَطَ,
Are they waiting until the Time will come to them suddenly? It already came from its preconditions (signs started to come). But what (is the benefit) for them when their report has (already) come to them?
19

فَاعْلَمْ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنبِكَ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ مُتَقَلَّبَكُمْ وَمَثْوَاكُمْ ࣖ

Then know that there is no god except Allah, and ask forgiveness for your sins, and the believing men and women. Allah knows your change (wavering, inside out, movement) and your settlement (resting place).
20

Those who believe say, “If only a verse is sent down.” Yet when the verse is sent down with the decision and is mentioned to fight, you see those sick in their hearts with the look of fainting with death on him. So, woe (more appropriate) to them!
21

طَاعَةٌ وَقَوْلٌ مَّعْرُوفٌ ࣞ فَإِذَا عَزَمَ الْأَمْرُ ࣞ فَلَوْ صَدَقُوا اللّٰهَ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْ ۚ

(They should be) Obedient and (with) kind words. If they had spoken the truth about Allah when the matter was decided, that would have been better for them.
22

فَهَلْ عَسَيْتُمْ إِن تَوَلَّيْتُمْ أَن تُفْسِدُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَتُقَطِّعُوا أَرْحَامَكُمْ

بَصُرَ,
عَمِيَ,
صَمَّ,
لَعَنَ,
Those are the ones whom Allah has cursed. He made them deaf and blinded their vision.
24

Do they not contemplate in the Al-Quran? Or have their hearts been locked out?
25

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ ارْتَدُّوا عَلَى أَدْبَارِهِم مِّن بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الْهُدَى ۙ الشَّيْطَانُ سَوَّلَ لَهُمْ ؕ وَأَمْلَى لَهُمْ

Indeed, those who rejected and turned their backs after the guidance became clear to them (they disbelieved after believing), the shaitan seduced them that (if they disbelieve) they could enjoy for a long time.
26

ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا لِلَّذِينَ كَرِهُوا مَا نَزَّلَ اللّٰهُ سَنُطِيعُكُمْ فِي بَعْضِ الْأَمْرِ ۖ ۚ وَاللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ إِسْرَارَهُمْ

27

Do those who have sickness in their hearts think that Allah will not bring out their inner grudges?
30

وَلَوْ نَشَاء لَأَرَيْنَاكَهُمْ فَلَعَرَفْتَهُم بِسِيمَاهُمْ ؕ وَلَتَعْرِفَنَّهُمْ فِي لَحْنِ الْقَوْلِ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ أَعْمَالَكُمْ

And if We wanted, We could have shown them to you so that you would recognize them with their marks. Certainly, you will know them by the tone of their words. And Allah knows your deeds.
31

وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ حَتَّى نَعْلَمَ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ مِنكُمْ وَالصَّابِرِينَ ۙ وَنَبْلُوَ أَخْبَارَكُمْ

Indeed, those who did not believe and opposed the path of Allah, and separated from the Messenger after the guidance was made clear for them, would never be able to make a loss for Allah in anything. And He will make their deeds useless.
33

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَطِيعُوا اللّٰهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَلَا تُبْطِلُوا أَعْمَالَكُمْ

O those who believe! Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and do not make your deeds useless.
34

Here you are, here you are asked to spend in the path of Allah. Among you (some) who become stingy and whoever becomes stingy has stinginess on himself. Allah is above all needs, while you are the needy. And if you turn away, He will replace your nation with another, and they will not be like you.

The root word Maalik in "مَـالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ" is given as Malak. Meanings are given as "Angel, Acquire , Take , Possession , Property , wealth , state , Government , Royalty , State , Civilian". Please let me know where I am missing the link.

Response:

Assalam U Alaikum, Asifuddin We appreciate your comment. Words in Each Ayat of the Quran are linked to the pages of the Dictionary. Just click on the root word next to Ayat and the dictionary page will open, where meanings are provided. Please follow the meanings provided in the dictionary. • Follow the link for reference Dictionary page. مَلَكَ The dictionary shows the meanings Ruling, Possessing, Owner, Holder and includes King and Sovereign words. Approximate contextual meanings are provided in the translation. Hope this answers your question. Please let us know if you find any mistakes for corrections or provide us with your suggestions for improvements. May Allah Subhanahu Wa-Ta'ala reward you for your efforts. Arabic grammar and root words are same?

Response:

Assalam u Alaikum We appreciate your comment. In order to use the dictionaries, the words are arranged according to roots. Arabic words are listed under their roots. The knowledge of Arabic Sarf (Morphology) and Nahw (Syntax) is required to understand the meaning. Please read the pp ix of the dictionary, ( ARRANGEMENT AND SEQUENCE OF ENTRIES). Qaisrani 10/11/2021 11:05:09 PM
Dear Admin, you have written صدق الله العظيم as part of every sorah and even given it an ayat number while it is not part of the Quran. The Holy Quran does not have this verse and there is no example of writing these words in the Quran so please remove this as it is a kind of tehreef.JazakAllah

Response:

Assalam u Alakum Qaisrani, We appreciate your comment. The line صدق الله العظيم, ALLAH HAS SPOKEN THE GREATEST TRUTH, was added to be read after the recitation of Al-Quran as a regular practice. We agree with your comment that these lines are not part of Al-Quran and should not number as a continuation of Ayats. We will remove these lines on the next upgrade. It has become part of the database at present, and for now, we will add clarifications to these lines. Please let us know if you find any other mistakes for corrections or provide us with your suggestions for improvements. May Allah Subhanahu Wa-Ta'ala reward you for your efforts. Its a stunning work. i am learning arabic and deeply interested to speak fluently. If you can provide the linking pages as text reference, will be a great boon for us. through that we can also search for any words that appear in texts and refer back to the root. it is also the reverse way. But now the linked dictionary pages are in pdf or image only ref. But thanks very much for this wonderful work. Ifyou can make a tool out of it..we can contribute to it as i know time is spent very much on it.

Response:

Assalamu’alaikum Babu, It is our blessing from Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala, that He sent us His Great Messenger, Prophet Muhammad Salla Allahu hu Alaihi Wassalam, with Quran. It is Guidance for our lives. We must understand, each word of Quran, and ask for His guidance, Forgiveness and Acceptance. We thank you for your comments of encouragement. We want to keep the dictionary in original format, and the great work done by author Maan Zulfi Madina and Columbia University. We do have plan to digitize the dictionary later if the permission is granted. Please continue to use the website and send us recommendations. Please share the website with others. Jazakallah

Salam - For the last 10 years I have been searching for a similar tool that can connect the Quranic ayats with their root words. This is a revolutionary tool that truly fulfils the gap in understanding that existed between the meaning and spirt of each ayat. After gaining this deeper level of understanding the process of reading quran becomes a process which is a dialogue between your soul and Allah. Now i understand why this message was such a transformational tool in the lives of sahaba since they understood the root meaning of quranic ayats. I feel like this is the need of the hour and this tool will truly helps us in establishing and connecting back to our true ibrahimic roots. I would like to send my deepest gratitude to team behind this master piece.May the ummah benefit from this revolutionary tool.

Response:

Walakum Assalam, Waleed, We received the Message of Al-Quran from Prophet Muhammad Salla-Allahu Alayhi Wasallam, and this is our blessing in our life, and to Thank Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. All we can do is to try understanding His Message and ask for His Forgiveness. Your comments were encouraging; we are working on the next phase of update where we will add few more words and few corrections, along with links of dictionary pages enabled, just by hovering over the Ayats. Please let us know if you find any mistakes for corrections or provide us with your suggestions for improvements. May Allah Subhanahu Wa-Ta'ala reward you for your efforts. JAK.

I noticed today that the links to the dictionary are not working. I am not sure if it is only me who is seeing this or others are experiencing the same issue. Regards

Response:

Walakum Assalam, Kashif The Website is working good, sometimes the links takes time to respond and open the page of the dictionary. If you wait or login again it should resolve the issue. Keep us informed if you find that word links are not responding. We are working on upgrades where each word will be directly linked to Dictionary. JAK
