|
| He created the Universe without visible pillars, placed mountains in the earth lest it moved with you, and scattered all the animals. And we send down water from the sky and generously grow every pair of vegetation from this (Water). (Note. The gravitational attraction of the original gaseous matter present in the Universe caused it to coalesce and form stars. It caused the stars to group together into galaxies, so gravity is responsible for many of the large-scale structures in the Universe. Gravity has an infinite range, although its effects become weaker as objects get further away. Ref. Wikipedia) | ||
| 11 |
|
| This is what Allah has created. Now show me what is created by others. Indeed, the unjust are in clear falsehood. | ||
| 12 |
|
| We have given Luqman wisdom: "to Give thanks to Allah." Whoever is grateful does so for the benefit of his soul, and whoever is ungrateful, surely Allah is Self-Sufficient, Praiseworthy. (Allah is above any need) | ||
| 13 |
|
| When Luqman said to his son while he was advising him, “O my son, do not make (associate) partners (companions) with Allah, for making partners (with Allah) is a great unjust.” | ||
| 14 |
|
| We guided humankind regarding his parents. His mother went through hardship after hardship to carry him and weaned him (breastfed him) for two years. Therefore, be grateful to Me and your parents. To Me is your ultimate return. | ||
| 15 |
|
| But if they make attempts for you to make partners with Me, that you do not have any knowledge, do not obey them. But be a kind companion for them in this world and follow the path of those who turn to Me for repentance. You will return to Me, and I will inform you what you did. | ||
| 16 |
|
| “O my son, if there is even the weight of a mustard seed, whether (hidden) in a rock, (or anywhere) in the universe, or on the earth, Allah would bring it forth (out). Allah has a Thorough Knowledge of fine details. | ||
| 17 |
|
| O my son, establish prayers and instruct what is known (right, excellent conventional, beneficial), prohibit (what are) forbidden (reprehensible) acts, and stay patient with whatever befalls (comes) you. That is being with great determination (courage). | ||
| 18 |
|
| Do not be arrogant towards people, and do not walk on the earth in self satisfied manner (boastfully, rejoicing). Allah does not like every deceitful, boastful person. | ||
| 19 |
|
| Adopt a middle course in your walk and lower your voice (soften your tone). The sound of the donkey is detested. | ||
| 20 |
|
| Can you not see that Allah has made everything in the universe and the earth subservient to you? He has bestowed upon you His blessings, both manifest and hidden. Yet, there are those among humanity who argue about Allah without knowledge, guidance, or the Book of Light. | ||
| 21 |
|
| When they are told to follow what Allah has revealed, they respond by saying, "We will only follow on that what we found our forefathers (practiced)." But even if Satan had been calling them (their forefathers) to the punishment of the blazing fire. (they still persist in their misguided ways). | ||
| 22 |
|
| And whoever submits his personality (appearance, direction, course, manner) towards Allah and is beneficent (doer of good), he is firmly held with firm confidence (with reliable authority). Towards Allah follows all the final decrees. | ||
| 23 |
|
| And whoever was ungrateful, his ungratefulness should not grieve you. To Us, it is their return. Then We will inform them about what they were doing. Allah Knows All what is in their breasts (hidden thoughts). | ||
| 24 |
|
| We give them little enjoyment (in this worldly life), then We will force them towards harsh punishment. | ||
| 25 |
|
| And if you ask them, “Who created the universe and the earth?” They will surely say, “Allah.” Say, “All praise for Allah.” But many of them do not know. | ||
| 26 |
|
| For Allah is whatever is in the universe and the earth. Allah is above any need, and He is All Praiseworthy. | ||
| 27 |
|
| If all trees on the earth become pens, and oceans become ink for them, seven seas will be used up, not completing words for Allah. Allah is the Most Powerful, Most Wise. Note.
|
| Your creation and your rebirth (resurrection) are only like (creating) a single soul (one person). Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing. | ||
| 29 |
|
| Do you not see that Allah shelters the night in the day and shelters the day in the night? He Subjugates (Utilizes) the sun and the moon, each running its course toward an appointed period. And Allah is Aware of what you do. | ||
| 30 |
|
| That is because Allah is the Truth, and what you call other than Him is falsehood and because Allah is the Highest, the Greatest. | ||
| 31 |
|
| Do you not see that the ships run in the oceans because of the favors of Allah to show you His signs? Indeed, these are the signs for every patient (enduring, steadfast), thankful person. | ||
| 32 |
|
| With waves like shadows covering them, they call Allah (for help) with purity to His way (in sincerity to Him). But when We rescue them on the land, among them (some) followed through—no one dispute with Our signs except every ungrateful disloyal. | ||
| 33 |
|
| O you, humankind! Fear your Rabb and be afraid of the day when there will be no compensation from the father to his son and no compensation from his son to his father. The promise of Allah is true, so do not be deceived by worldly life. Be aware, and do not let arrogance lead you to deceive yourself in matters related to Allah. | ||
| 34 |
|
| Indeed, the knowledge of the Hour of Resurrection is with Allah. He sends down abundant rain and knows what is in the wombs. No soul knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no soul knows which land he will die in. Allah is All-Knowing and has Thorough Knowledge. |
