سورة النجم - 53 - |

|
بِسْمِ ٱللّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ |
||
| In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful and the Most Compassionate | ||
| 1 |
وَٱلنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ﴿1﴾لا |
هَوَى,
|
| By the oath of the star when it falls (Black holes of stellar mass are expected to form when very massive stars collapse or fall in at the end of their life cycle. Ref: Wikipedia. Blown away, a neutron star -- the crushed innards of a massive star that long ago exploded as a supernova. Ref. NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمْ وَمَا غَوَىٰ﴿2﴾ج |
ضَلَّ,
|
| Your companion is not misled nor in error. | ||
| 3 |
وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰٓ﴿3﴾ط |
نَطَقَ,
|
| He does not speak out of desire. | ||
| 4 |
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْىٌۭ يُوحَىٰ﴿4﴾لا |
وَحَى,
|
| That is but an inspiration. He (prophet) is inspired. (Through Angel Gabriel). | ||
| 5 |
عَلَّمَهُۥ شَدِيدُ ٱلْقُوَىٰ﴿5﴾لا |
شَدَّ,
|
| He is taught by the Strong, the Powerful. (Angel Gabriel, who taught the Quran to the prophet Mohammad ﷺ ). | ||
| 6 |
ذُو مِرَّةٍۢ فَٱسْتَوَىٰ﴿6﴾لا |
سَوِيَ,
|
| He is possessed with transitioning. (Transitioned to be equal like a human). He became equal. | ||
| 7 |
وَهُوَ بِٱلْأُفُقِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ﴿7﴾ط |
أُ فُقْ,
|
| While he was at the high horizon. | ||
| 8 |
ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّىٰ﴿8﴾لا |
دَلْو,
|
| Then he descended and came close. | ||
| 9 |
فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَىٰ﴿9﴾ج |
قَاب,
|
| Then He was very close (length of) two bows or nearer. | ||
| 10 |
فَأَوْحَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ عَبْدِهِۦ مَآ أَوْحَىٰ﴿10﴾ط |
عَبَدَ,
|
| Then He inspired His worshipper what was to be inspired. | ||
| 11 |
مَا كَذَبَ ٱلْفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَىٰٓ﴿11﴾ |
رَأَى,
|
| The heart did not lie about what he saw. | ||
| 12 |
أَفَتُمَٰرُونَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَا يَرَىٰ﴿12﴾ |
رَأَى,
|
| Do you then doubt him about what he saw? | ||
| 13 |
وَلَقَدْ رَءَاهُ نَزْلَةً أُخْرَىٰ﴿13﴾لا |
رَأَى,
|
| He saw (his) descent another time. | ||
| 14 |
عِندَ سِدْرَةِ ٱلْمُنتَهَىٰ﴿14﴾ |
سَدِرَ,
|
| Near the utmost end of the Lotus Tree. | ||
| 15 |
عِندَهَا جَنَّةُ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰٓ﴿15﴾ط |
جَنَّ,
|
| Near there is the Garden to Shelter. | ||
| 16 |
إِذْ يَغْشَى ٱلسِّدْرَةَ مَا يَغْشَىٰ﴿16﴾لا |
غَشَا,
|
| As the Lotus Tree is covered with what it was covered. | ||
| 17 |
مَا زَاغَ ٱلْبَصَرُ وَمَا طَغَىٰ﴿17﴾ |
طَغَا,
|
| His eyes did not deviate, nor did they exceed the boundaries. | ||
| 18 |
لَقَدْ رَأَىٰ مِنْ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ﴿18﴾ |
آ ىي -آية,
|
| He saw the signs of his Great Rabb. | ||
| 19 |
أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱللَّٰتَ وَٱلْعُزَّىٰ﴿19﴾لا |
رَأَى,
|
| Do you see the -lat and the -uzza? | ||
| 20 |
وَمَنَوٰةَ ٱلثَّالِثَةَ ٱلْأُخْرَىٰٓ﴿20﴾ |
أخر,
|
| And menat, the other, the third one? | ||
| 21 |
أَلَكُمُ ٱلذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ ٱلْأُنثَىٰ﴿21﴾ |
ذَكّرَ,
|
| Is for you the males and Him the females? | ||
| 22 |
تِلْكَ إِذًۭا قِسْمَةٌۭ ضِيزَىٰٓ﴿22﴾ |
قَسَمَ,
|
| This is a bizarre (unfair) division. | ||
| 23 |
إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّآ أَسْمَآءٌۭ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّآ أَنزَلَ ٱللّٰهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَٰنٍ ۚ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهْوَى ٱلْأَنفُسُ ۖ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُم مِّن رَّبِّهِمُ ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ﴿23﴾ط |
سَمِي,
|
| These are only names that you and your forefathers have assigned for which nothing was sent down from Allah on this. They only follow what they are guessing and what their ego desires, and indeed, (even though) the guidance has already come to them from their Rabb. | ||
| 24 |
أَمْ لِلْإِنسَٰنِ مَا تَمَنَّىٰ﴿24﴾ز صلے |
مَنَا,
|
| Or for humankind whatever he desires? | ||
| 25 |
فَلِلّٰهِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ﴿25﴾1ع |
أخر,
|
| Then, the beginning and end are for Allah. (To Allah belongs the Hereafter and the First). | ||
| 26 |
۞ وَكَم مِّن مَّلَكٍۢ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ لَا تُغْنِى شَفَٰعَتُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ أَن يَأْذَنَ ٱللّٰهُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَرْضَىٰٓ﴿26﴾ |
شِاءَ,
|
| How many angels in the universe cannot mediate in anything except after Allah Gives them permission for whomever He Desires and Agrees? | ||
| 27 |
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ لَيُسَمُّونَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ تَسْمِيَةَ ٱلْأُنثَىٰ﴿27﴾ |
أَ مُنَ,
|
| Indeed, those who do not believe in Hereafter surely assign female names to angels. | ||
| 28 |
وَمَا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنْ عِلْمٍ ۖ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ ۖ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّنَّ لَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ شَيْـًۭٔا﴿28﴾ج |
تَبِعَ,
|
| They do not have any knowledge about this. They follow only assumptions, which are not helpful against the truth. | ||
| 29 |
فَأَعْرِضْ عَن مَّن تَوَلَّىٰ عَن ذِكْرِنَا وَلَمْ يُرِدْ إِلَّا ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا﴿29﴾ط |
ذَكّرَ,
|
| So, avoid him who turns away from Our remembrance and desires nothing but the life of this world. | ||
| 30 |
ذَٰلِكَ مَبْلَغُهُم مِّنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱهْتَدَىٰ﴿30﴾ |
عَلِمَ,
|
| That is their scope (reach) of knowledge. Your Rabb Knows about who is lost from His way, and He Knows about who is guided. | ||
| 31 |
وَلِلّٰهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ لِيَجْزِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسَٰٓـُٔوا۟ بِمَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَيَجْزِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا۟ بِٱلْحُسْنَى﴿31﴾ج |
عَمِلَ,
|
| To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, that He will reward those who do evil according to what they have done, and reward those who do good with good. | ||
| 32 |
ٱلَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَٰٓئِرَ ٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْفَوَٰحِشَ إِلَّا ٱللَّمَمَ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ وَٰسِعُ ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ ۚ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِكُمْ إِذْ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِذْ أَنتُمْ أَجِنَّةٌۭ فِى بُطُونِ أُمَّهَٰتِكُمْ ۖ فَلَا تُزَكُّوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُمْ ۖ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰٓ﴿32﴾2ع |
عَلِمَ,
|
| Your Rabb is the utmost in forgiveness for those who avoid the bigger sins and immoralities, except slight mental derangements. He is the One Who Knows you when He created you from the earth and when you were an embryo in the wombs of your mothers. So, do not ascribe purity to yourself; He Knows who is devoted (God-fearing). | ||
| 33 |
أَفَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى تَوَلَّىٰ﴿33﴾لا |
رَأَى,
|
| Do you see who turned away? | ||
| 34 |
وَأَعْطَىٰ قَلِيلًۭا وَأَكْدَىٰٓ﴿34﴾ |
قَلَّ,
|
| And gave little and harmed (others) by artful machination? | ||
| 35 |
أَعِندَهُۥ عِلْمُ ٱلْغَيْبِ فَهُوَ يَرَىٰٓ﴿35﴾ |
غَابَ,
|
| Does he know the unseen and can foresee? | ||
| 36 |
أَمْ لَمْ يُنَبَّأْ بِمَا فِى صُحُفِ مُوسَىٰ﴿36﴾لا |
نَبَأَ,
|
| Or has he not been informed of what was in the Books (Scrolls) of Musa? | ||
| 37 |
وَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلَّذِى وَفَّىٰٓ﴿37﴾لا |
وَفَى,
|
| And Ibrahim, who was faithful? | ||
| 38 |
أَلَّا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌۭ وِزْرَ أُخْرَىٰ﴿38﴾لا |
وَزَرَ,
|
| Is it not (true) that you will not carry the burdens of the others? | ||
| 39 |
وَأَن لَّيْسَ لِلْإِنسَٰنِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ﴿39﴾لا |
أَنِسَ,
|
| And there is nothing for humankind except what he attempted (pursued, put efforts). | ||
| 40 |
وَأَنَّ سَعْيَهُۥ سَوْفَ يُرَىٰ﴿40﴾ص |
رَأَى,
|
| And his attempts (what he pursued and put efforts into) will soon be seen. | ||
| 41 |
ثُمَّ يُجْزَىٰهُ ٱلْجَزَآءَ ٱلْأَوْفَىٰ﴿41﴾لا |
جَزَى,
|
| Soon he will be compensated entirely according to his (portion of) compensation. | ||
| 42 |
وَأَنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلْمُنتَهَىٰ﴿42﴾لا |
إِلَى,
|
| And that to your Rabb will be the conclusion. | ||
| 43 |
وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَضْحَكَ وَأَبْكَىٰ﴿43﴾لا |
ضَحِكَ,
|
| And that He is the One who makes you laugh and cry. | ||
| 44 |
وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَمَاتَ وَأَحْيَا﴿44﴾لا |
حي,
|
| And He is the One Who Brings death and Gives life. | ||
| 45 |
وَأَنَّهُۥ خَلَقَ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰ﴿45﴾لا |
خَلَقَ,
|
| And He is the One who created the male and female pairs. | ||
| 46 |
مِن نُّطْفَةٍ إِذَا تُمْنَىٰ﴿46﴾ص |
نَطَفَ,
|
| From a semen drop when it is emitted. | ||
| 47 |
وَأَنَّ عَلَيْهِ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْأُخْرَىٰ﴿47﴾لا |
نَشَأَ,
|
| And upon Him, another arisen (Allah will raise you in another life hereafter). | ||
| 48 |
وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَغْنَىٰ وَأَقْنَىٰ﴿48﴾لا |
غَنِيَ,
|
| And that He is the One who enriches and gives acquisitions (properties, possessions). | ||
| 49 |
وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلشِّعْرَىٰ﴿49﴾لا |
شَعَرَ,
|
| And He is the One who is the Rabb of the Sirius Star (Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky, 8.6 light-years from the earth). | ||
| 50 |
وَأَنَّهُۥٓ أَهْلَكَ عَادًا ٱلْأُولَىٰ﴿50﴾لا |
هَلَكَ,
|
| And He is the One Who destroyed Aad earlier. | ||
| 51 |
وَثَمُودَا۟ فَمَآ أَبْقَىٰ﴿51﴾لا |
بَقِىَ,
|
| And Samood, there was nothing left. | ||
| 52 |
وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍۢ مِّن قَبْلُ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ هُمْ أَظْلَمَ وَأَطْغَىٰ﴿52﴾ط |
قَبِلَ,
|
| And the people of Noah before them were even more unjust and committed more transgressions. | ||
| 53 |
وَٱلْمُؤْتَفِكَةَ أَهْوَىٰ﴿53﴾لا |
هَوَى,
|
| The cities that were overturned were blown away. | ||
| 54 |
فَغَشَّىٰهَا مَا غَشَّىٰ﴿54﴾ج |
غَشَا,
|
| And covered them with whatever covered them. | ||
| 55 |
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰ﴿55﴾ |
رَبَّ,
|
| So, what benefits (favors) of your Rabb are you in doubt? | ||
| 56 |
هَٰذَا نَذِيرٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلنُّذُرِ ٱلْأُولَىٰٓ﴿56﴾ |
نَذَرَ,
|
| This is a warning, just like a warning to ancestors. | ||
| 57 |
أَزِفَتِ ٱلْـَٔازِفَةُ﴿57﴾ج |
زَفَّ,
|
| Has hastened (approached) the informed (The Day of Final Judgment has arrived). | ||
| 58 |
لَيْسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ ٱللّٰهِ كَاشِفَةٌ﴿58﴾ط |
كَشَفَ,
|
| Nothing other than Allah can uncover. | ||
| 59 |
أَفَمِنْ هَٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ تَعْجَبُونَ﴿59﴾لا |
حَدَثَ,
|
| Do you marvel at this conversation? | ||
| 60 |
وَتَضْحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبْكُونَ﴿60﴾لا |
بَكَى,
|
| And you are laughing and not crying? | ||
| 61 |
وَأَنتُمْ سَٰمِدُونَ﴿61﴾ |
سَمَدَ,
|
| And raise your heads proudly? | ||
| 62 |
فَٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِلّٰهِ وَٱعْبُدُوا۟ ۩﴿62﴾3ع |
عَبَدَ,
|
| So, bow down to Allah and worship Him! ۩ Prostration |
