Ayat Al-Kahf RootWords

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful and the Most Compassionate
1

All the praise for Allah, He is the One who has revealed the Book on His slave and He did not place a deviation (a twist) in this.
2

Firmly established, a warning for them of a severe calamity from Him; and to give the good news to the believers who do righteous deeds, indeed, for them is a good reward.
3

Dwelling therein forever.
4

And to warn those who say, “Allah has taken a son.”
5

They do not have any knowledge about this, nor did their forefathers. A big word of lie comes out their mouths. They say nothing but lies.
6

So perhaps you are going to kill yourself with grief, for their preferences, that they do not believe in this conversation,(report).
7

Indeed, We made what is on the earth as decoration in it, for Us to put to the test that who among them will pursue a good deed.
8

And We will make whatever is on it (earth) a leveled barren (land).
9

Did you consider that Companions of the Cave and the inscription (scripted message) are among Our surprising signs?
10

When the young took the shelter in the cave, and they said, “O our Rabb, give us Your mercy and arrange guidance for us in our matter.
11

Then We sealed their ears (stroke ringing in their ears) (to be) in the cave for numerous years.
12

Then We woke them up for us to know which of the groups has a better count of how much time they stayed in their place.
13

We will narrate the story to you about their information with truth. They were young and believed in their Rabb and We increased their guidance.
14

And We bound their hearts, when they were steadfast and they said, “O our Rabb is Rabb of the universe and the earth; we will never call on any god other than Him, for when we say that then we will be gone too far in excess.”
15

“These are our people who have taken other than Him as God. Why do they not bring a clear authority? Who is more unjust than that who fabricates lies on Allah?”
16

“Now that you have separated and isolated from that community, and from those they worship besides Allah, then they take shelter in the cave. He will gather you, Your Rabb, under His mercy and He will arrange (make) your matters to be convenient.”
17

And you will see the sun when it rises, it inclines slanted from their cave from reference to the right, and when it sets, it scraps off them from reference to the left, as they are in the opening in the cave. These are among the signs of Allah. Whomever Allah guides, then he is the guided one, but whomever He leaves misguided, you will never find a supporter or guide for him.
18

You will think they are awake, but they are asleep. And We rolled them over with reference to the right and to the left, with their dog sitting with its forearms spread at doorstep firmly. If you come to them suddenly, you would turn back from them, running away and filled with fear of them.
19

And that is how We raise them up, so they will ask among each other. One speaker among them said, “How long you have stayed?” They said, “A day or some part of a day.” They said, “Your Rabb knows best with how long you have stayed.” “Dispatch one of you with your paper money this way for the town, and they will see who will bring you the more appropriate food with this. And he should be friendly and kind, and they should not recognize anyone of you.”
20

“If they discover you, they will stone you or they will return you to their nation, and then you will never be successful.”
21

And that is how We made them be discovered for them to know that the promise of Allah is the truth and that of the time ending, there is no doubt in it. When they were disputing among them in their matter, they said, “Build on them a building.” Their Rabb knows best about them. Those who were dominant in their affairs said, “We will construct for them a mosque.”
22

Soon they will say, “There were three, and their dog is fourth of them.” And they will say, “Five and sixth of them is their dog,” while they are guessing. And they will say, “There are seven and the eighth of them is their dog.” Say, “My Rabb knows best with their count.” You do not know except a few. So do not be doubtful in it except it is with an open dispute and do not ask about this from any one of them.
23

And never say a thing about, “I will be doing that tomorrow.”
24

Without saying, “What Allah desires.” And remember when you forget and say, “I hope my Rabb will guide me closer than this guide.”
25

And they stayed in the cave three hundred years, and nine more.
26

Say, “Allah knows the best with how long they stayed.” For Him is the unseen in the universe and the earth. He sees it clearly and listens clearly. There is nobody for them other than Him as a supporter and nobody shares in His commands.
27

And recite what is revealed to you from the Book of your Rabb. Nothing is to be changed in His Words and you will never find other than Him to be leaned on.
28

And be patient yourself with those who call their Rabb in the mornings and the evenings. They seek His direction and do not extend your eyes away from those, who find adornment of the life of this world. And do not follow whom We have made inattentive his heart of Our remembrance, he follows his passions and his affairs are being in excess.
29

And say, “The truth is from your Rabb. Whoever desires, let him believe in it. And whoever wishes, let him be ungrateful to it.” We have prepared for the unjust a Fire, surrounding them in a large canopy. And when they call for help, they will be helped with miserable drink, that roasts the faces. Unfortunate is their possession of easement.
30

As for those who believe and did righteous deeds, We do not waste reward of whoever does a better act.
31

For them is the Gardens of Eden, with rivers running below them. They will be adorned in there with jewelry from gilded gold, and they will wear clothes of green dress from silk, and brocade sitting in there on luxurious couches. That is a great reward and beautiful possession of easement.
32

Give them an example of two men. We made for one of them, two gardens of grapes and surrounded them with date-palm trees, and We put agriculture between them.
33

Each of the two gardens brought their food and they were not wrongly treated by Him in anything. And We let the water flow copiously between their empty spaces.
34

And it has been a fruitful production for him. He then said to his companion while he was discussing with him, “I have more wealth than you and I am more dominant in manpower (than you).”
35

Then they both departed. Until they reached inhabitants of a town, they asked for the food from its people they denied hospitality to them. Then he found a wall that was headed for a fall, and he resurrected it. He said, “If you wanted, you could have asked for wages from them”.

He said, “This is a separation between you and me. I will inform you with the interpretation of what you were not able to keep patience”.
79

As for the boat, it belongs to two paupers. They were trading in the sea and I desired to make it defective because behind them there is a king coming to take away every boat in provocation.
80

As for the youth, their parents were righteous believers, and we feared that he would oppress them with transgression and ungratefulness.
81

So we wished that their Rabb would give them in an exchange better than him in righteousness, and closer in sympathy.
82

And about the wall, it belonged to two young orphans of the town. And below it, there was a treasure for them. And their father was righteous. So your Rabb desired that when they reach their maturity, they would bring out their treasure, as a mercy from your Rabb. And I did not do that from my order. That is the interpretation of what you were not able to keep patience.”
83

And they ask you about the two-horned (an epithet was given to Alexander the Great). Say, “I will tell you about him as a remembrance.”
84

We firmly established him in the earth, and gave him everything resourceful.
85

Then he followed a source.
86

Until, when he reached west of the sun, he found that it sets down in a murky spring, and found a nation nearby. We said, “O Zul-Qarnian, either you can punish or you take them (can help them) in kindness.”
87

He said, “As for he who is unjust, we will punish him, then he will be returned to his Rabb, and He will punish him a vicious punishment.”
88

“But for he who believed and did righteous deeds, for him is the excellent reward, and We will speak to him from our command to (provide him) comfort.”
89

Then he followed a source.
90

Until, when he reached the rising of the sun, he found it rising on a nation that we have not made a covering for.
91

That is how, indeed We have surrounded him with information.
92

Then he followed a source.
93

Until, when he reached between the two obstructions, he found another nation. They almost did not understand a word.
94

They said, “O Zul-Qarnian, the Yajooj and Majooj are a cause of corruption in the land. Can we set a price for you, (a land tax) on a condition that you make between them and us an obstruction?”
95

He said, “What my Rabb has given me power is best,(no tax on you) but help me with troop and I will make a dam between you and them.”
96

“Bring me plates of iron.” So that when they become equal in between that they coincide (leveled) with each other, he said, “Blow.” When it made a fire, he said, “Bring me tar to empty on it.”
97

So they were unable to climb over it and they were not able to dig through it.
98

He said, “This is mercy from my Rabb. Then (but) when the promise of my Rabb comes, He will make it flattened (leveled) and the appointment of my Rabb is a reality.”
99

On that Day, We will leave some of them surging over others. And the Trumpet will be blown, and We will gather them altogether.
100

On that Day, We will display Hell to the ungrateful; all visible (displayed, really happening).
101

Those whose eyes were covered from remembering Me, and they have not been listening (paying attention).

Do those who betray ungratefully consider that they will take My slaves other than Me as supporters? We have prepared Hell for the ungrateful as a staying place.
103

Say, “Should We inform you about the deeds of losers?”
104

“Those who lost their way in the course of the life of this world, while they consider that they are given advantages in benefiting favors.”
105

It is those who betray ungratefully to signs of their Rabb, and (deny) meeting Him. So We will make their deeds useless. We will not let it be that, their acts hold any weight for them on the Day of Standing.
106

That will be their reward, Hell, because they betrayed, became ungrateful, and took My signs and my messengers mockingly.
107

Living therein forever, they will not desire a change from it.
109
